Call for Proposals ALFA III - Higher Education Cooperation Programme between the EU and Latin America.
31/03/2010 | On last 26th March the Office for External Cooperation of the European Commission launched the new call for proposals of the ALFA III Programme, for the execution of joint projects and structural projects between Higher Education Institutions (HEI) from Latin America and Europe.
The main goal of the ALFA III Programme is to contribute to the development of the higher education in LA through cooperation between the EU and the countries of Latin America, as a means to contribute to the economic and social development of the region in general and the more balanced and equitable development of Latin-American society in particular.
The Programme priorities are the following:
•reform and modernisation of HEIs and systems in the beneficiary countries, paying particular attention to the most disadvantaged or vulnerable groups and to the poorest countries in the region;
•support the HEIs and other relevant actors to progress towards the creation of a Common Higher Education Area in LA;
•the promotion of cooperation and the set up of networks and lasting links between HEIs from the two regions, boosting links between HEIs and the different actors that play a role in contributing to economic and social development (social cohesion, regional integration, innovation, energy, environment and measures encouraging the establishment of links between HEIs and the labour market.
The European Union may finance until the 80% of the eligible costs of the project.
