AFAM Network - Academic Cooperation between ACP&EU Countries

17/10/2007 | Last October DEVALAR presented to the European Commission the project AFAM Network-"Support the multidisplinary academic reinforcement from Galician and Portuguese University to Portuguese African Universities".

This project was born in University of Santiago de Compostela; it is an attempt to take advantage of the previous contacts with the universities in Cape Verde and Mozambique and Angola, in order to improve the cooperation strategy with African-Portuguese countries. The action presented has two parts clearly different:
1. Exchange of experiences and creation of a common cooperation strategy, where it sill be identified the priority areas of expertise for the project partners.
2. Improvement of postgraduate training, in priority areas previously identified. The objective is to improve the expertise in basic fields for the social and economic development in ACP countries.
The overall objective is to improve the institutional capacities and contribute to social and economic development in higher education field EU-ACP.
